Carolina Connections "Wireless Connections Special Episode" on Metro Raleigh Business RadioX Gives Voice to Internet of Things Facilitators

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) RALEIGH, NC -- (Marketwired) -- 10/15/14 -- A special Wireless Connections edition of the October 7, 2014, Carolina Connections on Metro Raleigh Business RadioX featured Ed White, Chairman & CEO with Field2Base, Inc., Bob Thomas, VP of Sales with ClearConnex, and Ryan Keefe, VP of Sales with Wyless. These three companies each facilitate corporate adoption of wireless technologies, and were interviewed by host Ann Revell-Pechar and the Wireless Research Center of NC's Dr. Gerard Hayes and Larry Staffann.

Ed White discussed how this Morrisville, NC-based technology company uses tablet computers, wireless communications and Field2Base software to support mobile forms automation for a variety of vertical markets.  "We embed business rules in the forms used on tablets so that you have valid, complete data; we embed GPS and photos, letting you capture things using technology that you can't with paper. It's a real time view of what's happening in the field, allowing a quick response." Bob Thomas conversed with the group about how ClearConnex's wireless embedded engineering services business impacts the Internet of Things (IoT). "We have evolved as a solutions company focused on the Internet of Things; everything we do is in support of Machine to Machine (M2M). We can have the end-to-end solution for any company that wants to collect data and pull it back to a server. For one client, we have sensors placed on streetlights that collect a series of data, pulled back to a server and actioned upon by a municipality. Taking data from a remote location and auctioning on that data." Ryan Keefe with Wyless joined the conversation to talk about Mobile Virtual Network Enabler, or MVNE. "We work specifically in the M2M, IoT space, enabling solutions across the globe. For example, a vending machine company historically would send a team out and see how much money is in each machine, take inventory, see if it's broken. Our solution makes it a smart vending machine, where owners only have to dial into the machine through the internet to take inventory or do remote diagnostics."
