Forbes Media Acquires Private Photo Sharing App Camerama
Forbes Media today announced the acquisition of the private photo
sharing app Camerama. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Effective immediately, the founder of Camerama Salah Akram Zalatimo will
join the company as VP of Mobile Products, reporting to Forbes Media
Chief Product Officer Lewis D'Vorkin. Mr. Zalatimo will assume the
responsibility of building on Forbes' mobile strategy by developing a
platform of apps for the company, leveraging the core technology that
served as the foundation of Camerama.
"Salah brings with him a unique set of skills, experiences and assets.
He's been a founder of a business, he has the technical know-how and the
data-driven mindset that will help Forbes expand its growth in mobile
apps," said Lewis D'Vorkin. "Our goal is to build passionate communities
under the Forbes umbrella - the kind that marketers want to reach and
that generate valuable and relevnt content."

Mr. Zalatimo founded Camerama in 2014. After specializing in media for
the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company (News - Alert), he worked as an
independent consultant for several of the world's leading media
companies, including Bertelsmann, Sony Music and The New York Times.
He earned his BA and MBA from Columbia University.
