Yahoo Kicks-off Monthly Mobile Developer Meetups in San Francisco
Today Yahoo (NASDAQ: YHOO) announced a new local initiative to engage
mobile developers through monthly meetups called Yodel Meetups. Starting
March 26, Yodel Meetups will be held once a month in Yahoo's San
Francisco office.
Yodel Meetups are an opportunity for mobile developers to get together
to learn about and discuss issues important to them with other
innovators in the app community, along with Yahoo and Flurry engineers.
Yahoo will provide a forum for topics relevant to all app developers
such as UX, design, growth and monetization and more specialized topics
such as developing for Apple (News - Alert) Watch or digging into the latest open
source database tools.
The first Yodel Meetup will be held in partnership with Branch.io on
March 26 at 6:30 p.m. in Yahoo's San Francisco office, where developers
will hear from Flipboard, Groupon, Zynga (News - Alert) and App In The Air about growth
hacking - easy organic strategies for user acquisition, retention and
engagement.
"Our Mobile Developer Conference in February was a huge success, and we
met so many developers who wanted more opportunities to meet with peers
and keep the conversatio going about new tools and how the mobile space
is changing," explained Jarah Euston, VP Analytics and Marketing at
Flurry from Yahoo.
Yodel Meetups are launching in San Francisco, but will be expanding to
other cities around the country, including New York City, later this
year. For more information about upcoming events visit Yahoo
Developer Network Tumblr or to suggest Yodel Meetups in your city,
