Scale Computing Names 30-Year Technology Veteran as Chief Revenue Officer

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Scale Computing, the leader in hyperconverged storage, server, and virtualization solutions for midsized companies, announced today the appointment of Dave Hallmen as its Chief Revenue Officer, who now oversees the worldwide sales and marketing functions.  He reports directly to Jeff Ready, CEO and co-founder of Scale Computing.

Hallmen has 30 years of experience as a corporate officer leading both private and public technology companies, principally in the storage, networking and business intelligence software sectors.  Most recently, Hallmen served six years as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Evault, a cloud-connected backup and recovery business, which was acquired by and integrated into Seagate Technology.  Previous executive experience includes serving as COO of ProClarity Corp. and vice presidential positions in business development, sales and marketing at Veritas Software, Seagate Software, Arcada and Artisoft.  Additionally, he has served on a number of Boards of Directors for companies including Calgary Scientific Inc., MyStateUSA, 180 Connect Inc., 90 Degree Software, Apparent Networks and ProClarity Corp.

"I am excited by both the vision and direction that Scale Computing has in bringing hyperconvergence to the data center for comanies of all sizes and look forward to contributing my efforts to extending the company's success even further," said Hallmen.  "Hyperconvergence is gaining traction as a preferred method of building infrastructures to support today's business-critical applications.  I feel Scale's approach to this with their HC3 Platform means that companies can adopt a single solution at a lower cost and without the complexity found with traditional storage protocols.  This is what companies from the mid-market through the enterprise are looking for and I can't wait to help further position Scale as the company to provide it for them."

Scale Computing's HC3 platform brings storage, servers, virtualization and management together in a single, comprehensive system. With no virtualization software to license and no external storage to buy, HC3 products lower out-of-pocket costs and radically simplify the infrastructure needed to keep applications running. HC3 products make the deployment and management of a highly available and scalable infrastructure as easy to manage as a single server.

"With extensive experience in early stage companies and in merger and acquisition integration, Dave brings to Scale a wealth of leadership experience for driving sales growth and productivity, marketing execution, brand awareness, and partner acquisition and enablement initiatives," said Ready.  "I look forward to Dave's contributions heading up our sales and marketing departments as we scale our business and the reach of our HC3 Platform."
