Austin Chamber of Commerce Honors Kathleen Lucente as a 2015 Volunteer of the Year

The Austin Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Kathleen Lucente, founder and president of Red Fan Communications, a leading full-service communications agency, as its 2015 Volunteer of the Year for the Austin Gives category. This is the second time Lucente has received a Volunteer of the Year award from the Austin Chamber, as she was named the Communications Volunteer of the Year in 2013.

"We are fortunate to have such an outstanding business owner, active community member, mentor and advocate on our team," said Austin Gives Executive Director Beth Krueger. "We couldn't be more pleased to recognize Kathleen for all of the tremendous support she has given to this organization and the Austin community."

Lucente has worked with and supported Austin Gives since its creation in 2011. Led by Lucente, the Red Fan Communications team created an integrated communications plan for the launch of Austin Gives. After Austin Gives became an official program of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce in 2015, Lucente and her team worked with the Austin Chamber's communications team to ensure a successful and seamless transition of duties. After only five years, the organization has reaped the benefits-securing partnerships from over 300 Austin companies.

Last year, Lucente was officially appointed to the Austin Gives executive council.

"It is a true joy to contribute to Austin Gives' success and celebrate other loca businesses who embrace philanthropy," Lucente said. "Red Fan, being a boutique agency, must be selective in the non-profit work we take on each year. Austin Gives fits perfectly in line with our values and the growing city of Austin, where we proudly reside and work with clients on a local and national level."

Red Fan Communications also supports a number of other local non-profit organizations, including the Trail of Lights Foundation and Farmgrass. Its team reaches even further into the Austin community by supporting local charities such as Ronald McDonald House Charities, The African Leadership Bridge, Komen Austin and many more.

In addition, Red Fan works closely with clients to help them realize their own non-profit goals, while staying true to their core company and employee values.

"Companies with the right corporate culture, including a strong philanthropy effort that empowers employees to be actively involved, is valued by employees, candidates and partners as they look for like-minded organizations to work for or connect with," Lucente said. "Giving back to your community and a cause your company believes in builds employee and partner pride-which is priceless."
