Visual Content Creation Drives Results

With consumers experiencing sensory overload every time they “plug in,” it can be difficult enough to capture their attention, let alone keep it.  Let’s face it; text alone won’t cut it. You need something that’s flashy, bold, and enticing – you need visual content creation.

According to a recently-released infographic from B2B Infographics, 40 percent of people respond better to visual information than plain text.  After all, looking at a colorful picture or graphic is far more engaging than looking at a block of jumbled text. And who knows this better than marketers?

Marketers who use visual content experience massive returns in terms of more readers, traffic, and leads. In fact, posts with videos attract three times more inbound links than plain text posts, according to the aforementioned research. But knowing where and when to implement visual content can be difficult. Below are some visual content creation ideas to help get you started:

  • Infographics: In an age where 1.5 billion pieces of content are created on a daily basis, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle. Using infographics, or visual representations of information intended to present complex information in a simple way, is a great way to stand out from the crowd. In fact, businesses that use infographics gain 12 percent more traffic growth compared to those who don't. Moreover, infographics are inherently shareable. Consumers would rather share a cool graphic with their friends rather than a lengthy article.
  • YouTube Channel: Instead of telling your customers about your latest product or service through text, why not show them with video? YouTube has emerged as one of the best (and free) tools that marketers can use to spread brand awareness. Video gives your brand a human side, offering you a chance to show customers “the face” behind the brand. Take Allstate, for example. The company’s YouTube channel features a variety of videos like “how tos” and tips on safe driving.

  • Social Media: Visual content shared on social media helps drive engagement. Consider this: Just one month after the introduction of Facebook timeline for brands, photos and videos experienced a 65 percent increase in engagement. Supplement your social media posts with photos or videos to increase engagement and shares. Who knows, maybe you will even go viral while doing so.

Adding custom visual content to your marketing strategy is a no-brainer. If you need help getting started check out our infographic and video pages for some inspiration. Remember: a picture is worth a thousand words or leads in this case.
