One responsive site, Zoogle Media, answers to Google's latest algorithm change

PORTLAND, Ore., April 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As businesses everywhere worry how Google's latest algorithm change will affect their search rankings, Zoogle Media has a word of advice: get responsive. Immediately. The Silicon Forest-based Internet marketing firm recommends businesses not create separate sites for laptops and for mobile devices, but one responsive site that is user-friendly across all devices used for search. The firm has developed a simple three-question test to determine whether a website is responsive: www.zooglemedia.com/responsive-webdesign/.

Starting tomorrow (April, 21st 2015), Internet search giant Google will expand its use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal.

Said Zoogle Media President Chris Blair: "This new algorithm change makes sense, given how/where people search today. We've heard a lot about having a stand-alone mobile-friendly website and a separate desktop/laptop-friendly website. We at Zoogle disagree. The ideal website is one responsive website -- not two separate sites for laptops and mobile devices."

Zoole has been recommending completely responsive websites for the past five years.  Says Blair: "With a responsive website, users wouldn't have to zoom in to see essential information, load time is faster, and users can click a phone  number or email address in order to directly contact the business from their mobile device. When people find you and are ready to contact you, you want to encourage that contact, not put up barriers."

Early adopting businesses are already reaping the benefits of responsive websites. Carmen S, a Zoogle Media customer in Orlando who is in the "cash for junk" car business, made his website responsive and enjoyed a nearly 40 percent increase in his business within 12 months. Other Zoogle Media clients in industries such a HVAC, towing and legal have increased their businesses 30 percent on average.

Concluded Blair: "Google's new algorithm is great for consumers and significantly favors websites that are responsive. Rather than seeing it as punishment, look at the upside. It will help level the playing field for smaller businesses that can't afford massive internet marketing budgets."

Zoogle Media is a small web development and Internet marketing firm based out of Portland, Oregon.
