Looking to Re-Invent Your Brand? Content Marketing to the Rescue

Has your brand image gone stale in the eyes of consumers? Are you looking to re-invent your brand, but you don’t know how? If so, you’re not alone. According to the results from a recent digital marketing survey by Adobe, about 40 percent of marketers that were asked indicated they wanted to reinvent themselves online.

But only 14 percent actually knew how to go about doing it.

So, why are so many marketers reluctant to reinvent their brands online? A big reason comes down to the amount of risk that they are willing to take. In fact, 54 percent of respondents claimed that the ideal marketer should take more marketing risks.

But as a marketer, you might want to shake up your strategy without doing something radical. Many marketers prefer to stick with tested and true advertising campaigns for fear of ruffling the feathers of their customers—and that’s what makes content marketing so enticing.

With content marketing, your advertising comes directly from you. Your words and ideas will translate into regular blog posts and Web copy that will be read by all of your customers online. You can custom-fit your content to reflect the ideals that matches your organization.

These days, reinventing your brand is not always about doing something radical. It’s about reminding your customers why your brand is a cut above the rest by reinforcing your position as a thought leader in your industry.

Are you ready to get started? Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself the following questions about your brand:

Am I really reaching my core audience? Stop and think about whether your marketing efforts are actually hitting home with the people you do business with the most. For instance, why post a radio advertisement if all of your customers are online? Use big data and content in order to figure out who is poking around on your website, and then tailor your content to reach them.

How relevant is my brand?  Is your brand at the top of the Google search engine rankings? If not, you could be losing a lot of business. A strong content strategy will ensure that your business stays at the top and is the go-to destination for someone performing a Web search related to your keywords.

Do people understand what my company has to offer? The great part about content marketing is that it gives you the chance to explain exactly what your brand can do for its customers. You can speak directly to them and eliminate confusion, while at the same time marketing your product. Posts can be entertaining, informative and engaging. And once a customer reads a post, you can link them directly to where you want them on your website, be it a case study, white paper or contact form.
